Our range of sheds can be designed to meet your exact needs and match the colour palette of your home or existing building.

Do you need extra living space, a granny flat or man-cave/she-shed? A livable shed kit from Tropical Sheds is essentially no different to any of our sheds and garages. The main differences between a garage and a liveable shed are the foundation it rests on and the interior fit out.

A liveable shed must meet the strict criteria of a Class 1A habitable dwelling according to the Building Code of Australia. Each local council will have specific regulations, but generally speaking will include the following:

  • The foundation design must meet the criteria of the Building Code of Australia
  • Sanitary facilities connected to sewerage
  • Connection of town water or tank water
  • Compliance with bushfire and flood regulations
  • Kitchen sink and cooking facilities
  • Space for a washing machine
  • Smoke alarms

The Tropical Sheds team will happily guide you through the process of creating a liveable shed using one of our customised garage designs.

We don’t compromise on quality, using only the best materials to manufacture our structures. All our sheds, whether they are agricultural buildings, steel sheds or storage sheds, are engineered to each specific site and use. This ensures the structure is fit for purpose and can withstand the rough climate of the tropics.
